I have to disagree on one part; even at the cost of a military confrontation, Russia must be stopped. We’ve done it before, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and we can do it again if we have to.

Evil and dangerous men such as Vladimir Putin cannot be allowed to succeed. I admit, I’m a hawk on this sort of thing - both my parents lived during the WWII era and it was impressed on me from a very young age that when you see a bully doing their thing, you intervene, even if that means using force when words fail. Diplomacy is all well and good, but it is useless if not backed up by the credible threat of force.
