I’ve been to the Des Moines airport. It’s not a happening place, but there is a large grocery story just a couple of blocks away on the main drag from the airport to downtown, well stocked.

You’d think someone visiting could just pop into a grocery store, pick up some cooked Hormel ham (from Iowa probably), buy some decent bread and cheese, and make themselves a pretty tasty sandwich.

And whenever I’ve been in a grocery store in Iowa they’ve never been anything but overstocked on food (as you’d expect.) Including produce.

“Pizza” has to be a codeword or something.

I’ll bet you could even get cheese that was spelled with an s, and tasty spreads, and good bread.
