re: #629 Cato the Elder

Thanos,

Thank you. That is not a Celtic cross as I define it. It is an Odin’s cross, and I recognize it for the fascist/Nazi symbol it has become. This is a Celtic cross. I’m glad to see Germany hasn’t banned it, though since the publication you link to is from 2006, that may have changed.

If the distinction between Celtic and Odin’s could be maintained in these discussions, we might be better able to sort it all out.

I’m quite aware of the difference between Celtic Cross as they appear on graves, Odin’s cross, high cross and berkenkruis. I did a lot of research on it back in the day. Odin’s cross typically doesn’t have arms extended past the circle. ADL disagrees with you.

Typical, true Celtic Crosses such as you see on graves have tips wider than the section that crosses in the middle, and typically has ornate celtic knots all over the arms.
A search on images will show you some true Celtic crosses, and the type that Stormfront prefers. If you want to be a purist then the Stormfront logo is a stylized celtic cross. Real Odin’s crosses don’t have arms crossing past the bound of the circle. We went through this argument in detail several times back when we were drubbing VB, Gates of Vienna.
Indeed, I challenged Baron to wear one one of the Stormfront Celtic cross logos on a tee shirt to church during that period, he never took me up on it.
