re: #643 Walter L. Newton

I’m still sticking to my opinion on this… people have become whiney babies about weather events and inconveniences, and the infrastructure has become broken.

I lived on the east coast for 24 years, both in New York City and Northern New Jersey and I have seen bigger snow events than this recent one, and I have never seen so much trouble getting the job down… and never seen such a pansy lot of east coasters.

Honestly… man up… all of you.

Check out lawhawk’s link.

Apparently, things were so badly mismanaged, emergency crews were unable to get through, and there are reports (unconfirmed as far as I know right know), that a mother and her baby died.

Yes, there have probably been worse snow events; however, the ill effects of this one have been pretty severe, due to lack of planning from what I can see.
