So we are back to the notion that established international borders are provisional and subject to unilateral change from someone on only one side of the border.

This is the issue that is being skirted whenever Russian officials and Putinverstehers start talking about what a shithole nation Ukraine is and how it is run and overrun by Zionist Fascist Capitalist puppet masters, etc…

Basically we’re going back to the 19th century idea that land borders are just lines on a map and those lines can be redrawn if you’ve got a bigger army than the other guy. Something we sort of got away from after two big wars led us to realizing that one more big war with very big bombs could spell the end of us all.
