I got to spend an hour with Charlie Pride once at the Texas/San Francisco World Series game 3 in 2010 - the missus got me in as a back up bartender in the Rangers’ owners’ suite. Was just me & Charlie for a good hour. Talked baseball and basketball…wasn’t until I walked out after my shift I realized I didn’t worship him openly for his wonderful music…loved that shit as a little red-neck in rural Northern California.
