It’s an old Navy ship, served in WWII, sunk as target practice in the 1960s after it was decommissioned.

The talking heads on the video were very secretive about its name, though, when discussing it earlier in the day. The archeologists just said it was one of two search targets.

Looking at the picture and the list of target ships sunk in the 60’s, it’s either the USS Guardfish sunk off Connecticut in 1961 or USS Spikefish sunk off Long Island in 1964 then. No way to know for sure till they say but it’s a sub in the picture and those 2 are the only ones on the list that fit the criteria.
