CNN is reporting that they now think that the Swine Flu may have begun in Las Glorias Mexico ,about six miles East of Mexico City.

That would make sense, given that a large number of cases is usually close to the origin point of a disease in the early stages.

It swine flu a big worry? I’d say no at this point. Outside of Mexico City, it does not appear more deadly than other strains of flu. Of course, as it is an H1N1, related to the 1918 flu, it bears watching, as does the bird flu in SE Asia. Concern is always advised, but panic is silly. Three schools around Chicagoland have closed today due to the flu. Never mind there’s only 9 cases total in Illinois. Total cases, not deaths, not people hospitalized, just cases, and mild ones at that. West Nile is bigger than that here.
