Condensed Version: My point was that your choice barely matters, because the non-batshit party has to play by rules that ensure that they don’t accomplish much of anything. See examples at: ACA as it actually ended up + SCOTUS antics RE: Hobby Lobby.

The way to fix voter apathy is not to keep telling us to VOTE MOAR, because we have personal experience that it doesn’t work. The system itself needs to be fundamentally fixed if you want to get people excited about voting. “Choose the shit that stinks least” is not a sustainable motivator.

I’m sorry your takeaway on Hobby Lobby was that voting doesn’t matter?

Mine was that it does immensely, because that’s how the people on the SCOTUS are decided on. And I might be pissy as hell at the folks who put Bush into office years before I was able to vote and have had so much influence on my life, but my response to that is to VOTE so it doesn’t happen again.
