GOP wants to continue shifting all the burdens on to those least able to endure them so that millionaires like Trump can get even more tax breaks. SS/DD.

Let’s also recall that millionaires get a huge tax break by not having to pay any tax for OASDI (Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid tax) on income over $147,000 in 2022. Someone with income under that level pays more in tax than someone who makes more than that, since a person making $250k would not pay this tax on every dollar over $147,000, meaning they get to keep even more of their money. This also helps explain the solvency issues Social Security has - if everyone were required to pay this tax on all income, not just up to the threshold, we’d see a more stable SS system.

Poor people already pay more than their fair share in tax, considering that they use a greater percentage of their income to pay taxes - sales taxes, fuel taxes, property taxes, etc., than someone who is rich.

The Medicaid scammer who paid a record fine and somehow avoided prison for running one of the largest scams of its kind, wants poor people to pay more.

It’s entirely on brand for the GOP.
