Another semi-frequent FYI from the dude chilling at your hotel’s front desk: Ask for a late check-out no later than the night before you need it, do not wait until the morning of check-out assuming that they’ll grant you one if you just ask. Keep this saying in mind: “A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.”

Perhaps it’s something that goes with having a brain that functions above the brain stem, but I always have most of my stuff packed the night before, so that I have time the next morning to make sure the things not packed are ready to go long before check-out. If you’re someone who scrambles at the last moment to get things out of the room so you don’t get charged, then you’re an idiot and an asshole.
