I must say that despite the apparent evidence against him I'm starting to doubt with each passing day that George Zimmerman will ever see the inside of a court room or prison cell (at least as it relates to Trayvon Martin).
On the other hand I DO believe there are several police department employees in Sanford who have a LOT to answer for.

Anderson Cooper: What did you observe after the shot?
Eyewitness: As I said it was dark, but after the shot, obviously someone, one man got up and it was kind of like that period of him – I can’t say I actually watched him get up – but maybe it was only in a couple seconds or so that he was walking towards where I was watching. And I could see him a little bit clearer, and see that he was a Hispanic man and he was, you know, he didn’t appear hurt or anything else, he just kind of seemed very, worried or whatever, walked on the sidewalk at that point, with his hand up to his forehead and then another man came out with a flashlight.[Link: www.reddingnewsreview.com...]

Another strange development is that older brother, Robert Zimmerman was interviewed last night and told his tale, supposedly as relayed to him by George. Then George's attorney said the brothers had not seen or talked to each other for years...and that the brother was just trying to get attention. Weird!

Do you remember where you saw that? I'm having a mini battle with a right leaning friend and he was under the impression the brothers were close.
7 | Gepetto Fri, Mar 30, 2012 12:00:58pm |
it would be interesting to know which of the several media-interviewed witnesses were also witnesses interviewed by SPD. The person who shows up at the scene with the flashlight directly after this witness sees GZ get up could be critical.

What he seems to be saying is there was likely a much longer verbal confrontation than the question, response, rejoinder that Zimmerman spokespeople have claimed, that all of the scuffle on the ground the witness observed was solidly on grass, away from the sidewalk, that Zimmerman shot while they were both still entangled on the ground, and after Zimmerman stood up Martin was facedown in the grass.

I'm starting to get Trayvon fatigue. I just want Zimmerman charged and given a fair trial.

I saw the interview on CNN, Piers Morgan I think, but heard the bit about the attorneys denial on MSNBC

That seemed to be some sort of verbal brain fart that came out totally wrong as he was reading from his teleprompters. He caught himself, and then skipped ahead in his speech while recovering.

How heavily was it raining? To what extent would this mitigate a blood issue (due to rinsing and/or dilution) or exacerbate it (by prolonging clotting)?
It's un-fucking-believable that the Feds have to try to reconstruct these sorts of things a month after the fact, of course.

If there is a trial it will be hard to find an untainted jury at this point.

But a very unfortunate verbal brain fart.

The death penalty for being a black male who calls for help:
[Link: prospect.org...]
"Kenneth Chamberlain, Sr., a 68-year-old African-American Marine veteran, was fatally shot in November by White Plains, NY, police who responded to a false alarm from his medical alert pendant. The officers broke down Chamberlain’s door, tasered him, and then shot him dead. Audio of the entire incident was recorded by the medical alert device in Chamberlain’s apartment."
And then you get studies like the recent one where about 60% of whites think that black Americans should just work harder and stop complaining. Like, we took care of that slavery thing, so what's your problem?

By this witness's account, Zimmerman promptly walked away. Wasn't the official story that GZ was standing over TM when the first officer (a narcotics officer) arrived? The one who "peppered" GZ with questions before any other officers arrived?

There is no such thing anyway. Every juror brings "life experience' to the pool.

I at least want to see a good reason not to charge Zimmerman. I'd say strong evidence of a valid case of self defense, but apparently that's not required under SYG. At this point I'd basically settle for clear indications of a properly handled investigation that couldn't find enough evidence to charge him, even if I don't think that's really right, since that seems to be enough in Florida to get off.

I played that several times and I have no idea what he could have been trying to say. Perhaps he had just seen Blazing Saddles and was trying to call Obama an ant-war "Nit"

Having visions of his non-concession/ withdrawal speech, when he completely loses it.

Nitwit?
Maybe he was going to say it then thought maybe it wouldn't be the most respectful thing to say about a sitting president.

Except Rick Santorum doesn't use teleprompters. He doesn't believe in them. He thinks speeches should be "from the heart".

Sounds like a lovely family. We've now had the Anthonys and the Zimmermans representing the functionality of Florida's citizens.
