Right Wing Crackpot Chuck C. Johnson “Permanently” Suspended From Twitter

Third time’s the charm

Chuck C. Johnson posing with his best friend

Yes, folks, our pal Chuck C. Johnson (who is NOT ME) has been suspended from Twitter for the third time, and he’s posted a message to his mailing list saying it’s “permanent” this time.

Dear friends,
Twitter decided without warning to permanently suspend my account after I broke a series of stories about Ferguson and Michael Brown verdict at gotnews. Twitter has not provided a reason why.

I didn’t see the tweets that got his account shut down, but I’m told he was bragging about being a better shot than Darren Wilson and threatening people. Which sounds like our boy Chuck.

UPDATE at 11/26/14 9:43:08 am by Charles Johnson

So much for a “permanent” suspension; Twitter has now reinstated Johnson’s account again, and he’s gloating about it.

Sadly, he’ll be back.

From downstairs: CCJ has published the addresses of two NY Times reporters on his website, and their home phone numbers are now in the comments section.

Earlier the Times had published the home address of Darren Wilson, then removed it. Chuckles seems to believe that gives him the license to stalk the reporters covering Ferguson.

3 Alyosha  Nov 26, 2014 3:26:53am

If indeed Twitter is serious about its Terms of Service, which in the past they’ve demonstrated a certain lamentable flexibility, surely Chuck’s next sock will be pretty easily identified (since he doesn’t seem to be the kind of person who could hide behind a nom de plume and who also needs to link to his goat stories) any re-incarnation he decides to foist upon the world will be suspended too.

Again, it assumes that Twitter is vigilant about such transgressions…

I understand Charles’ assertion that CCJ is a major presence in the Internet and has to be reckoned with but I would not miss him if he were to disappear for good, at least as far as this site is concerned.

So, this is weird. When I went to update my CCJ dossier, I could see the post before I logged in as the WP admin. But when I went to edit the post, there was nothing there.

Fortunately, I logged in on a separate page, so I could copypasta the visible dossier into the edit page and tweak it to resemble the original.

Really weird. Usually WordPress doesn’t screw up like that.

Anyways, here’s the latest version. wheatdogg.com

Ben Carson - man of clarity:

Ben Carson Not Convinced on Global Warming - Bloomberg Politics

Ben Carson is a man of science. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he believes in global warming.

“There’s always going to be either cooling or warming going on,” the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate said in an interview weekend in Des Moines, Iowa. “As far as I’m concerned, that’s irrelevant. […]

Pressed on the fact that the bulk of the scientific community believes the Earth is indeed warming, Carson pivoted. “You can ask it several different ways, but my answer is going to be the same,” he said. “We may be warming. We may be cooling.”

[…]

In a speech he gave Saturday night in Des Moines to evangelical conservatives, Carson pointed out the value of data. “The wonderful thing about medicine, when you show data, it changes people’s minds,” he said. “That doesn’t happen in politics.”

Riots over the canning of sports coaches. Oh, that’s just hooliganism.

Riots over the shooting death of an unarmed black man at the hands of a police officer whose department is noted for their racial discrimination.

Yeah, one thing isn’t like the other.

The media shrugs off sports-related riots as the work of drunken hooligans and makes excuses when they go nuts at pumpkin fests, but the entire community isn’t slagged with derogatory comments.

When a black community suffers indignity after indignity and protests - with some turning to violence, the entire community gets slagged.

Yeah, one thing isn’t like the other.

I wish there was a legal process where the evidence that “black kid” charging the cop and trying to take his gun could be tested to see if it holds up to scrutiny. Perhaps by a jury, and with the ability to cross examine. Someone should add that to the Constitution, or something.

47 lawhawk  Nov 26, 2014 6:08:16am

What’s the evidence that Brown went for the gun?

The investigators never bothered to check the gun for fingerprints, because they determined that Wilson never lost control of the gun.

You’d think that if there was a struggle for the gun, and misfires as Wilson claimed, they would have checked for fingerprints to confirm? Nope. That’s just one of many “oversights” in the “investigation”.

Every step of the investigation is designed with the officer’s innocence in mind.

Bleh! It reminds me of when my dad had a heart attack and subsequent triple bypass surgery. His surgeon suggested he start the Ornish program (which he has now followed for the past 13 years). It was vegetarian, no fat, no cooking with oils, etc. He decided to try a stuffed pumpkin recipe for Thanksgiving one year. I don’t remember what all it was stuffed with, but that was the most gawd-awful creation ever made. We still tease him about it to this day. Now, his Thanksgiving tradition is Hot and Sour Soup.

Here in NYC, despite shutting down major highways and bridges/tunnels for short periods last night, there were all of 10 arrests. In a city of 8 million+, that’s barely a blip on the daily total.

4 were for resisting arrest; 6 for disorderly conduct.

And all will face more criminal sanction than Officer Wilson.

The protesters gathered in Union Square before splitting up into separate groups, chanting “No justice, no peace.”
Protesters also shut down 34th Street, many of them high school and college students. Others spontaneously joined the crowds.
“Actually, I just came to go shopping and I saw the marching so I joined in,” said protester Brenda Gibson.
Many claimed the grand jury decision in Ferguson was part of a larger pattern of police abuses.
“This is actually a human rights issue,” said protester Verika Edwards.
They caused traffic disruptions on the FDR Drive and congregated at the entrances to the Williamsburg and Manhattan bridges and the Queens Midtown Tunnel.

Protesters also targeted the Lincoln Tunnel and tried to shut down the entrance, which lead to a tense standoff between police that delayed traffic for about half an hour.

“I do this drive every day and they came up behind me,” said driver Zollie Benton. “Once I seen that, I got a little nervous, hoping it didn’t get out of hand.”

In Brooklyn, demonstrators took to Flatbush and Dekalb Avenues.
There were no injuries. Police say the protests were largely peaceful.
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said officers were giving protesters “breathing room.”

“As long as they remain nonviolent, and as long as they don’t engage in issues that cause fear or create vandalism, we will work with them to allow them to demonstrate,” he said.

Amazing what happens with a police department that recognizes that giving protesters a way to peacefully assemble and exercise their constitutional rights can minimize the incitement to violence that full-on riot police tracking every movement offers.

That isn’t to say that the NYPD does everything right or by the book, but it’s a valid counterexample of how to police a protest - everything that Ferguson police (led by the despicable and reprehensible county police department) should be doing, but isn’t.

That isn’t to say that the NYPD does everything right or by the book, but it’s a valid counterexample of how to police a protest - everything that Ferguson police (led by the despicable and reprehensible county police department) should be doing, but isn’t.

As long as they didn’t shut down the GWB, they can still be President.

I wouldn’t get too worked up over Darren Wilson’s attitude about shooting Mike Brown. There is a big difference in shooting a white human and a black animal.

/// Possibly out of line comment, but damn it, I do believe for some people that is how they look at this…no big loss. How many tweets have been posted here that have that type of disregard of African Americans and use the very word animal? And yes, I am pissed off!

re: #128 Lidane

Far too many people think that Wilson had an actual trial. That didn’t happen.

He can still be charged, and tried, on both state or federal charges if a special prosecutor is appointed, or if federal civil rights charges are filed.

McCullough didn’t want a prosecution, so he dumped everything onto a grand jury including exculpatory evidence - which is just not normally done in a grand jury setting. It’s a deviation from his own established process, let alone what’s done nationally. He wanted people to shift the blame for a no true bill on to the grand jury, except that he’s still ultimately responsible for no charges being filed.

He didn’t want charges, so he came up with a way to do so - by perverting how the grand jury was to see the case. Throw everything and the kitchen sink in to the case.

Yet, McCullough spent more time describing how social media got it wrong, instead of how the prosecutor’s office and law enforcement mishandled the case from moments after the shooting was reported until the decision was made to release the results late in the evening even thought state and federal officials suggested changing the time.

McCullough turned the proceeding into a defense of their way of life in St. Louis County. It was can’t-miss strategy to ensure that Wilson would not be indicted.

Man Fatally Shot During Ferguson Protests ID’ed

A man fatally shot during Ferguson protests has been identified as Deandre Joshua, 20.

Joshua’s family members said they believed his death was related to the massive protests incited by a grand jury’s announcement on Monday night that they would not bring charges against Wilson for shooting Brown.

Police are investigating Joshua’s death as a homicide, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Even so, his grandmother, Renita Towns, has doubts about the amount of effort they’re going to put in.

“Police don’t care — he’s black,” she told USA Today.

Actually, I don’t think there were shots in the back.

But the killing shot? Top of head, through eye socket? Wilson and Brown are the same height. I can’t quite make the geometry work if Brown was rushing Wilson. I can if Brown was on his knees, falling down.

A year earlier, the same band went on stage, did 15 songs, but in middle of another song, the lead singer goes and attacks guy with camera. Riot ensues.

Happened just down the road from Ferguson too. White folks riot when Guns n’ Roses is scheduled to play.

I happened to be at the Giants Stadium show preceding the show where the riot occurred in Montreal. Heck, GnR was notorious during that entire tour for being late to show on stage for their set.

Demonstrators tore down two lampposts, one falling into a crowd. They also threw rocks and fireworks at the police, who responded with pepper spray. The crowd undulated like an accordion, with the students crowding the police and the officers pushing them back.

An orderly crowd first filled the lawn in front of Old Main when news of Mr. Paterno’s firing came via students’ cellphones. When the crowd took to the downtown streets, its anger and intensity swelled. Students shouted, “We are Penn State.”

Some blew vuvuzelas, others air horns. One young man sounded reveille on a trumpet. Four girls in heels danced on the roof of a parked sport utility vehicle and dented it when they fell after a group of men shook the vehicle. A few, like Justin Muir, 20, a junior studying hotel and restaurant management, threw rolls of toilet paper into the trees.

“It’s not fair,” said Mr. Muir, hurling a white ribbon. “The board is an embarrassment to our school and a disservice to the student population.”

Just before midnight, the police lost control of the crowd. Chanting, “Tip the van,” the students toppled the news vehicle and then brought down a nearby lamppost. When the police opened up with pepper spray, some in the crowd responded by hurling rocks, cans of soda and flares. They also tore down street signs, tipped over trash cans and newspaper vending boxes and shattered car windows.

Some students noted the irony of their coming out to oppose what they saw as a disgraceful end to Mr. Paterno’s distinguished career and then adding to the ignobility of the episode by starting an unruly protest.

“How was work today, dear?”
“Not bad. We had a long meeting about community relations, then I went out on patrol and shot three kids dead. The DA says not to worry. What’s for dinner?”

To be “fair”, it’s been several months, and he’s had that time to rationalize it, no doubt assisted by all his racist cop buddies. His response might have been a bit different right after the killing.

Seriously I know way to many people dropping that line, who I know have stolen, smoked pot, gotten into drunken bar fights, and driven drunk. It seems that they think the only reason black kids are getting busted for those same offenses is that they are being “stupid about it” and have absolutely no understanding of constantly being watched by authorities expecting you to do this. So to them, it seems, that the fact that they got away with their crimes proves that these blacks must have done something far worse than their petty crimes or simply be inferior people and should be locked away for being unintelligent.

re: #200 Ace-o-aces

The more people read the grand jury documents, the more one should realize how the FPD and County PD mishandled the case at every conceivable step.

From medical examiners and investigators who assumed that Wilson was in the right from the start to the ME failing to take photos/measurements of the scene, to failing to secure Wilson’s firearm and test it for fingerprints (to see if Wilson’s claim that Brown grabbed the gun). Etc.

Wilson was allowed to drive himself to the station after the shooting. He was allowed to wash up (eliminating any possible evidence along the way). Preserving evidence was never considered.

The FPD either didn’t have procedures for handling officer involved shootings, or didn’t follow it. The handling didn’t conform to the county PD procedure - to not allow the officer involved to pack their own gun as evidence.

Initial interview Wilson claims a single shot fired in the car. The second interview? Two shots and several misfires. Again, by the time the second interview occurred, there was likely coaching and an effort to portray Brown as being a deadly threat to Wilson.

So I am reading Bob McCulloch’s pathetic prosecution of Darren Wilson and I get to this paragraph:

When McCulloch announced the inevitable result Monday night, he prefaced it by blaming the press and social media for whipping up emotions in the case with inaccurate information. He went on to ridicule witnesses who had given inconsistent testimony.

And it occurred to me that when he says “whipping up emotions in the case with inaccurate information”, he is using the witness testimony presented without cross examination as unassailable facts.

Not to mention that the physical evidence is taken as gospel as well when, as lawhawk alluded to, is questionable and may not have held up to scrutiny.

The Purpose Of The Ferguson Grand Jury Was Not To Get An Indictment

Consider Witness 42 (most names were redacted from the transcripts). On day 16, the witness told a story that made it seem that there was probable cause to indict Wilson for killing unarmed teenager Michael Brown. The witness testified that Brown ran away from Wilson as Wilson fired, and that when a bullet struck Brown, Brown put his hands up, turned around, and began walking toward Wilson.

“I didn’t deem it to be a hostile situation to where the officer needed to have his gun raised,” said the witness. “Mike was coming like, ‘stop shooting.’ And he’s shooting him and kept shooting him. I’m like, he don’t pose no threat.”

“He was ready to give himself up,” the witness later added.

In a routine grand jury proceeding, this testimony would have been deliberately deployed to get Wilson indicted. But this was not a routine grand jury.

That much became clear when Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kathi Alizadeh torpedoed Witness 42’s credibility: “The first time you talked to the FBI, which was a week after this happened, you told them a story that had a bunch of lies, isn’t that right?”

re: #152 Eclectic Cyborg

Was any evidence besides eyewitness testimony given supporting the fact that Michael Brown charged at Wilson?

I’m going over this in my head and trying to figure out how you could possibly charge forward and end up with that many shots in your BACK.

I just finished reading the transcript of Dorian Johnson, Brown’s companion during the attack. I saw no mention of any charging, nor that Brown ever grabbed Wilson’s gun, just that Wilson kept firing his weapon at Brown as he was trying to get away, and even as Brown was falling to the ground.

To my feeble mind, that sounds like an assassination.

At least 2 protesters arrested after entering St. Louis City Hall

Authorities have arrested at least two people at a protest over the Ferguson grand jury decision in which several demonstrators stormed City Hall in St. Louis.

An undetermined number of protesters made it into the building Wednesday while shouting “Shame, shame.”

The protest march included several hundred people and began with a mock trial of Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown. It was held on the steps of the Old Courthouse, the site of the Dred Scott trial.

More than 100 additional police officers were called to the building and it was locked down.

Is LynnThames still blathering on about the Penn State Media Van Overturning That Was Totally Not A Riot?

I blocked her a couple of hours ago.

No idea. When I pointed out that the burned out car she was bitching about was from a World Series win “celebration” she got real quiet.

I know. That’s one reason I won’t have anything to do with Twitter. There could be some asshole tweeting out the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Twitter would just check the balance sheet to see how much revenue it was bringing in.

Twitter is a sewer service serving people who can’t reach the level of lowest common denominator.

I wouldn’t go that far, because Twitter can be useful and informative at times. However, like anything else, you take the good with the bad and that means that you can’t rely on Twitter to enforce their own damned rules when it comes to shitheads like Chuck, Hoft, and Kincannon; the only things one can do is to keep reporting them (often to no avail) or block and mute them.

And while you’re blocking and muting them, they’re spreading their lies and poison for all to see.

Sorry, but a service that ignores it’s own TOS is a service worth ignoring.

Me neither. Twitter is where the assholes and bigots can say things about people that they don’t have the balls to say face-to-face.

It fell into foreign hands the moment the Texans took it over from the Spanish.

Before that, it was Blogs, before that, it was Usenet, and before that it was talk radio, and before that it was newsletters.

Oh yeah, if cowardly bigots evolved into using Twitter to announce their deficiencies, then why is there still a Usenet? Check-mate Atheists.
