Finally figured out a bit about the flag on the table. Took longer because I am not familiar with Russian Orthodox Ultra-Nationalists and their symbols. (The 1930’s Spanish Fascist stuff exhumed up like rotting drek was easy for someone interested in history.)
The device on the flag on the table is a variant of the Russian Orthodox ‘Golgotha/Calvary’ Cross. (Golgotha and Calvary in this sense mean ‘Skull’.)
I have no idea about the wording around the flag edge.
Sergey probably would know a lot more about this.

The flag on the right (black and red vertical stripes with the quiver of arrows and a yoke) is a Falange/Franco flag called the FE-JONS. (Falange Española de las Juntas de Ofensiva Nacional-Sindicalista a fascist group).

Mississippi GOP Official Warns ‘We See the End Times,’ Calls for More Christians to Seek Office (Newsweek, May 8)
Because one thing Mississippi’s legislature is short of is Christians.
Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, a Republican, warned about the “end times” and called for more Christians to run for office during remarks this week.
Watson, Mississippi’s top election official, made the comments during a National Day of Prayer event in Jackson on Thursday. The National Day of Prayer is commemorated annually on the first Thursday of May. The modern observance of the tradition began in 1952.
“I believe we need Christian men and women in office today more than ever before. And if you’re a believer, if you’re a member of the church, you understand the signs of the times right now,” Watson, the son of a Pentecostal preacher from the Assembly of God denomination, said at the Jackson event, the Mississippi Free Press reported. “In the last few years, no more than ever before in the history of the church, we see the end times.”
In a video of his remarks broadcast by Jackson CBS News affiliate WJTV 12, Watson can be seen praying: “Lord to seek the opportunity for you to be seen through us, more than us to build our own statues—that you would help us to be godly men and women to Mississippi, to this country.”

Czech police call for premier’s indictment in fraud case (Yahoo!)
PRAGUE (AP) — Czech police recommended again on Monday that Prime Minister Andrej Babis should be indicted over alleged fraud involving European Union subsidies.
Prague’s prosecution office said it has received the results of the updated police investigation into Babis’ possible involvement in the $2 million fraud. Prosecutors now have to decide whether to file charges against Babis or dismiss them.
Police already recommended the same two years ago but a prosecutor decided to drop the case. That decision was later overturned by the country’s chief prosecutor, Pavel Zeman, who said it was done prematurely and without enough evidence to press or drop the charges.
It wasn’t immediately clear when the prosecution might finish the reevaluation of the case. The file has 34,000 pages.

As long as it is not being used as a window drape, a flag can be placed in a window.
I presume a desk flag is too small to be a drape.
Flags hung in windows are usually hung with the canton (union) of the flag to the top of the windowframe, on the left as viewed from outside.
If it is on a staff, then placed on the windowsill is fine. From the outside, if the desk flag is single, it should be in the centre of the sill. If it is a double flag (like with a state or city flag), the US Flag should be on the left as seen from the outside.

The only other issue would be if you have a homeowner’s association, which tends to get pissy about things in windows.

Not being on call is *lovely*. I don’t have to stress out that at any moment I might be paged to a line. Today I woke up and rolled out of bed before 6:30 am. Last week, when the work and the on calls were grinding me to a nub, I was rolling out of bed at 7:15 (shower) or 7:30 (no shower), running down to the Circle K to get diet Coke and donuts, and then starting work at 8 am.
I know I’m not the only one to be rather grouchy about the change in on call, plus the implementation of automagic ticket cutting and tiger team paging in response to certain monitoring triggers. While it’s quite clear this WORKS to get people to the line, the ones that we had last week were false alarms, either because the monitoring should have been suppressed or because the monitoring trigger itself had been set up in the wrong place and/or using the wrong tool.
One manager wrote an essay to our manager proponent of this ticketing/paging, complaining about the whole thing. Our manager was all, “uhm, hey, we were charged by suits to do this, we’re still working out the bugs.”
Now that I’m awake, I need to look through the ~2 hours of video I have from yesterday’s protesting and dig out the nuggets from the dross for posting. I especially need to find the cop avoidance part of the video. Off to work.

I’m having to do some educational reading this morning, because I was never taught about the Tulsa race massacre in school. Not entirely surprising, given Indiana’s own shady history when it comes to race relations in America.
The Trumpist coup plan was common knowledge weeks before January 6. We must ferret out and arrest everyone involved in planning the coup, keeping security unprepared, and withholding military assistance from the Capitol.
On January 6, armed Trumpist militias will be rallying in DC, at Trump’s orders. It’s highly likely that they’ll try to storm the Capitol after it certifies Joe Biden’s win. I don’t think this has sunk in yet.

I thought I was responding to some random conservative asshole but it turns out he’s a former MLB player, journeyman pitcher/former Yankee en.wikipedia.org
The two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

Memories of Grandma and Grandpa Bacon telling me how the Klan ran Indiana in the 1920s…
The FL inspector general ruled that Rebekah Jones is a whistleblower, entitled to legal protections, plus the possibility of reinstatement or compensation.
Jones was fired for refusing to lie about FL COVID stats.

This will look great on DeSantis’ presidential campaign CV.
YouTube just removed a video I posted EIGHT FREAKING YEARS AGO for “violating community guidelines against hate speech.” The video EXPOSED people who were engaging in hate speech. These tech-bro websites are just ridiculously bad at this.

What’s wrong, comrade? Afraid we aren’t treating your little puppets so well? You’re more than welcome to take them, if you want them.
Right. The way so many of these never-Trumpers are always eager to blame liberals for the debased state of the Republican Party is a huge red flag for me. And they never pull this shit when they’re on MSNBC - it’s always somewhere only right wingers will see it. https://t.co/ao7X0myXaz

LOL
The Alert Reader — especially the Alert Reader who has been damnfool enough to have listened to more than one of Mr. Sykes’ extended bitch sessions about the villainies and calumnies of the Left — will not fail to notice that Mr. Sykes never actually cites any specific Liberal person or publication by name. Even though he is apparently the target of continued, widespread harassments by the mighty forces of the Liberal Conspiracy, no links are provides and no documentation presented. Instead, Mr. Sykes whispers to his listeners about a Liberal army so vast and powerful and well-organized that they were able to change the trajectory of the entire Republican party on a whim but are also somehow unidentifiable. They’re just … out there … somewhere … like Donald Trump’s “many people”.

The outrageous, BS provision in the Texas bill that makes it illegal to transport more than 2 non-relatives to polls unmasks better than anything the motive here. This has nothing to do with “voter fraud” and everything to do with voter suppression. TX GOP= racist authoritarian.

I SAW LIVE MUSIC LAST NIGHT! AT RED ROCKS! HOLY SHIT!
Sorry for yelling. It’s just, weird? Like, things are coming back to a modicum of normal.
I saw The Disco Biscuits. Always a good time. There’s a reason they’ve been a touring band for 25+ years.
And the Red Rocks stage got a new roof (old one pictured in video above). The new one is supported by four huge Y-shaped concrete pillars, so it’s now much safer to hang a huge lighting rig.
First Red Rocks concert without alcohol since I was a teenager.

Marc Brownstein is the bassist for The Disco Biscuits.
Same. I’ll head directly to the vaccine dispensary with my friend Bob and if you ever want a biscuits show to happen again I would love for y’all to come with me. And don’t tell me you are worried about what’s in it, I’ve seen what y’all put in your bodies for 25 years now. https://t.co/At3YVNWDN6

Mark Summer has written an article talking about the move by the auto manufacturers towards electric vehicles, specifically trucks: dailykos.com. He put in a reservation for the new Tesla truck back when Musk presented it. The article talks about Ford, GM, and a couple of other companies making electric trucks.

My mom calls me her “baby”, even though I tower over my entire family.

Same here. If my mom were around she would say the same thing.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) is personally on the hook for nearly $700 million in loans his coal companies took out from now-defunct Greensill Capital,” the Wall Street Journal reports.“Mr. Justice’s personal guarantee of the loans, which hasn’t been reported, puts financial pressure on the popular Republican governor. He is also dealing with unrelated lawsuits alleging parts of his sprawling network of coal companies breached payment contracts or failed to deliver coal.”
Learned from tfg?

We visited there when we were in CO a few years ago. Sadly we didn’t see any shows, but it was cool to visit and see all the memorabilia inside the main building. Years ago someone gave me a rock from there and I took it back and left it with other rocks outside the venue. It’s truly a beautiful place.
