Great New Music From Matteo Mancuso: “Samba Party”

Music • Views: 15,990

Matteo Mancuso clearly has drawn some inspiration from the great Allan Holdsworth, but he’s developed his own thing and this new video is not just a shred fest, it has melodically inventive writing and excellent playing by all. And it’s just a fun tune, which is nice.

Official Music Video for Samba Party.
Pre-Order/Stream here: lnk.to

It’s finally here! this is the official video of my tune “Samba Party”, I know, It’s a strange title because first of all, musically speaking it doesn’t have anything to do with the samba style, but I wanted to write a happy “major chord” song and the thing I usually connect with giant happy parties with a lot of people is the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, that’s why “Samba Party”. The main theme of the song is inspired by samba rhythms but I wanted a more modern groove, that was when the masters @gianlucapellerito94 on drums and @riccardo_oliva on bass delivered this outstanding performance, and I was super happy of the result! I have to say it’s probably my favorite song from the album!
The location is called “Farm Cultural Park” located in Favara (AG) Sicily. We had tons of fun recording this, and I wanted to thank Florinda Saieva for letting us shoot the video on these beautiful locations! I also wanted to thank, as always @YamahaGuitarsOfficial for their constant support and of course thanks to YOU fans all over the world for the comments, likes and your positive response on my original material, that means the world to me! Thank you again.

Putin must be feeling pretty paranoid…he could have just ignored Prigozhin and released an ultimatum against him. Now he just looks like a frightened coward. That’ll only add fuel to the fire.

Prigozhin is the breaking news on every Russian state TV and media outlet. Russian Mod denies the attacks on Wagner’s positions and calls them fakes. If only they would dedicate all their resources to taking each other out.

yes, I did just tell the cat as she exited that if she didn’t come back by dark, she might come back to a closed door. I have no idea why I think the cat understands any of that, but it seems like she ought to get fair warning.

You’re assuming they’re even capable of going “boom,” which, there are serious doubts on that point given the way things have played out with the rest of Russia’s equipment in Ukraine.

I think he has higly placed accomplices within the Russian MOD. It would explain his apparent confidence in what appears on the surface to be a crazy or suicidal move. Otoh, he may well be crazy and suicidal.

Honestly, if people are printing their own temp plates for auto toll booths and shit they can just go to the corner store and take a half dozen pics…or make up a random number.

I know that people do use them - was warned by the Kia dealer to cut them up once my permanent plates arrived.

re: #32 No Malarkey!

Prick’s full statement:

The current situation: today, we were dealt a missile strike. After this strike, helicopters did their work. Then, artillery.

The orders were coming from the Head of General Staff to destroy PMC Wagner. After a meeting with the Minister of Defence Shoygu where they made this decision - to destroy the rebellious units, who are ready to defend the motherland, but not their asses.

As of now, we’ve crossed the state borders in all areas. Border guards came towards us and hugged our fighters.

Now, we’re entering Rostov. Units of the Ministry of Defence, in fact, the conscripts who were thrown to block our path, moved away.

We do not fight with children. We do not kill children. Shoygu is killing children by throwing untrained soldiers, conscripts included, into the war.

He set up 18-year-old lads against us. They’re like children and grandchildren to us. Therefore, these lads will live and return to their mothers.

We only fight with professionals. But if someone stands in our path, we will destroy EVERYTHING in our way.

We lend a hand to anyone. No need to spit in this hand. We are moving forward, going to the end.

Regarding claims regarding the arrest: this brotherhood, this justice, this honour, this conscience is what we have. But when you make these claims, you haven’t got these feelings. These feelings are destroyed. Thus, you cannot understand anything but betrayal.”

CNN has covered the war in Ukraine more than any other network - They dedicate a segment or two at least every hour to what’s happening there.

Once something like this happens, they’ll cover it to death. MSNBC will jump in when the story is hot, but default back to talking about how shitty Republicans are because that’s where their bread is buttered. Fox will ignore both stories and make up shit about Biden to fill their air time.

The election is a long way away. There’s a good chance the trial will be done and dusted before then. It’s fairly unlikely that the trial happens before we see 2024, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be toasting Trump’s downfall before the summer heat fades.

Folks seem to forget there was a putsch in the Soviet Union when the hard-line Communists held Gorbachev hostage and rolled the tanks in Moscow to overthrow the government. Boris Yeltsin led the way in resisting along with the people of Moscow, and the Army and hard-liners backed down.

Gorbachev was released and returned, but the Soviet Union was dissolved by the end of the year.

The same could happen here: Prigozhin may fail in bringing about a coup, but the result fatally weakens Putin’s hold on power.

No, but I think what most of us are hoping for is that 1) it relieves pressure on Ukraine, and 2) it fractures the ruling oligarchy in Russia and leads to something. There really isn’t a “good” side here for us to root for, other than the “burn it all down and start over” faction, but they’re not anywhere to be found yet.

If Prigozhin takes over it probably wouldn’t be an improvement.

To have any chance of maintaining power, Prigozhin will have to eliminate Putin’s power base, root and branch. Among many other things, that will mean ratting out Putin’s foreign accomplices since they are an integral and crucially important component of his network.

No, fallout would have a disastrous and costly effect on NATO countries. The psychological effect of witnessing an unprecedented mass casualty event would be profound as well. I am not sure what we could, or would, do because there are too many variables at this point.

I’ll admit: When I was 12 and James Cameron’s 1997 film “Titanic” came out, I was swept up by Titanic mania. But the obsession with the Titanic tracks most closely with the White, Western world’s obsession with technological dominance — which allowed Europe to explore and pillage other countries, wipe out entire peoples and enrich itself by exploiting the Earth’s resources.

Indeed, the Titanic — and, now, the submersible — might be a reminder that the deep ocean is the only resource-rich realm on Earth with the power to keep White men from exploiting it.

There’s a reason many of us Black folk struggle to understand why many White, wealthy folk participate in extreme, death-defying experiences and pay (often lots of money) to experience smallness and powerlessness. It’s a romanticism of peril, of death, as a way to appreciate life — in other words, a privilege. For the poor and the marginalized, the threat of social obsolescence and powerlessness is a lived, everyday reality. No need to pay for the, er, thrill.

You’ve probably heard the news that the term “cisgender” is now officially considered a slur on Twitter, which is both disheartening and unsurprising. Pride this year has been rocked by countless attempts across the country to take away and block LGBTQ+ rights, and Twitter is no exception. Since Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media site, things have been heading steadily downhill, and this latest attack on the LGBTQ+ community is just one in a long line of anti-LGBTQ+ policies that have plagued Twitter since Musk’s takeover.

In response to a tweet from a cis male claiming he was being targeted by trans activists, Musk tweeted that “Repeated, targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.” This, naturally, confused many Twitter users who struggle to keep up with the app’s ever-changing content policies. It’s already an incredibly difficult time out there for the LGBTQ+ community, and now Twitter has been added to the long list of things they have to worry about. This decision is not only rooted in extreme privilege and transphobia, but it’s also ultimately helping right-wing extremists further marginalize the LGBTQ+ community.

Happy Pride: ‘Cisgender’ Is Apparently A Slur On Twitter Now, And It’s Cementing The App As Unsafe (women.com)

The Advocate, yesterday.

Kansas Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Up, Bomb Nashville Pride

Tennessee prosecutors have indicted a man over online threats he allegedly made targeting Nashville Pride with violence.

Authorities on Tuesday announced they had charged Joshua Hensley, also known as Josh Echo, with two counts of transmitting an interstate threat related to the upcoming Nashville Pride event this weekend.

The 25-year-old was arrested last Thursday at his home in Hoisington, Kan. A hearing in the case is set for Friday.

The indictment states that on April 26, Hensley posted several comments on Nashville Pride’s Facebook page. He said he would “make shrapnel pressure cooker bombs for this event” and that he was going to “commit a mass shooting.”

“We will not tolerate hate-based, threats of violence designed to intimidate Tennesseans,” said U.S. Attorney Henry Leventis in a press release. “We will continue to work with our partners at the FBI to ensure that the civil rights of all persons are protected.”

Hensley faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count if he is convicted.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Nani M. Gilkerson of the Middle District of Tennessee and Trial Attorney Kyle Boynton of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division are prosecuting the case, according to the release.

Last week’s arrest comes as Pride organizers across the country are on heightened alert due to concerns of violence against LGBTQ+ people. The Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ+ rights advocacy group in the country, issued a state of emergency due to the rise of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation being introduced and passed across the U.S.

The Department of Homeland Security recently referred The Advocate to an issued National Terrorism Advisory Bulletin noting that LGBTQ+ communities should be on alert.

“Lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and personal grievances continue to pose a persistent threat to the United States,” the bulletin reads. “U.S. critical infrastructure, faith-based institutions, individuals or events associated with the LGBTQIA+-community, schools, racial and ethnic minorities, and government facilities and personnel are likely targets of potential violence.”

With regards to the earlier bit about the possibility of nukes, I live within an hour’s drive of the US Navy’s largest naval base on the East Coast, it’s master jet base on the East Coast, one of its primary shipyards, and one of its primary Marine training bases. HAZARD…Damaging tornado.

SOURCE…Public confirmed tornado.

IMPACT…You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris
may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile
homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete
destruction is possible.

* The tornado will be near…
Hubbard Hill around 730 PM MDT.

Other locations in the path of this tornadic thunderstorm include
Scottsbluff, Gering, Terrytown, Scotts Bluff National Monument,
Wildcat Hills Campground and Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

To repeat, a large, extremely dangerous and potentially deadly
tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move
to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy
building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in
a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.

De La Cruz is one of the most exciting players I’ve seen come up in a long time. He’s only been up with the team for 3 weeks and already has nearly hit a homer out of the stadium and helped the Reds to a 12-game winning streak, their longest since 1957.

You should be covered under your policy because it’s not an Act of God thingie.

Does it have to be a certain god?

It was kind of a silly line but it’s actually pretty damn accurate, “The finger of God,” in Twister. Whole neighborhoods tend not to get destroyed in big tornado events, just a straight line through the neighborhood about a half mile wide. I’ve seen amazing aerial photos of tornado destruction where houses are completely stripped from their foundations and just a few yards away there are houses fully intact.

Yeah, I’m about 8 miles from Duke’s keowee-hatchaway nuke plant. The good news is that the university is riddled with fallout shelters. Give me 15 minutes of warning and I could at least get through a gamma blast.

I’m about six miles from the White House — I any missiles actually can get off the ground with viable nukes, I expect this area and the easy coast to be blanketed from here to NY.

ETA - Targetpractice makes a good point that they will probably go from Norfolk to NY.

This tornado has already been on the ground for more than seventy-five miles, starting over near Chugwater, WY

That hook echo in the radar indicates a very dangerous storm, indeed.

The tornado has lifted.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the north half of my county. The only town in the way is Angora (pop 1).

Still no word if there was damage in Scottsbluff. That city is the biggest city in the Nebraska Panhandle (population 14,400). The tornado appears to have directly hit Scotts Bluff National Monument (immediately west of town).

Banner County has lost all power (the next south of Scottsbluff and extremely rural: Its county seat and only town is smaller than my village). Storm warnings have gone up in counties to my south and north.

better than my fear that this is a diversion so they can catch the Ukranians off guard.
