Outrage!
Some of the worst memories I have were of men’s attitudes toward women in the ’50s. These guys weren’t much different, even if Burroughs and Ginsberg were known to be gay (maybe because of it to some extent—they pretty well ignored women), but they were “cool” for the time. Remember, this was before women woke up in the 60s.
