Catholic is not “a real Christian”: Protestants.

Even in the press you will frequently see articles referring to “Christians and Catholics.”

A friend who is Protestant (not Evangelical) and a Democrat does not consider Catholics or Mormons to be Christian; to her they belong to religions (just like Jews, Hindus, and Muslims) that are not a subset of Christianity. She’s not a theocrat and it doesn’t trouble her that they worship God differently —nor is she bothered by atheists.
