And when the courts discard votes from the largest counties because they’re somehow unconstitutional? Or go through every ballot from a large city to discard them for any reason at all? Or declare that for some reason, all the ballots from another large Democratic area are somehow tainted, and thus any results should be invalidated? Or if a large bag of fraudulent Democrat votes is somehow ‘found’, and breathlessly reported as a scandal across every news network, thus ‘proving’ that Democrats cheated and the results should be invalidated?

The play isn’t just stop counting votes. It’s the same as it’s been before - stop people from voting in areas that are populated and Democratic, and throw the votes out from those areas when they do come in. That doesn’t have to happen Election Day. It can happen in the weeks afterwards too, and that then gives time for some judge to declare it legal and for the news to cast doubt on any Democratic win.

Again, I think there are many reasons to be optimistic about this year. But I’ll say it again, fascists don’t give up power just because the slaves say so. Trumpism is many things, but at its core is simply doing blatantly corrupt things in the open and declaring, what are you going to do about it? Sure, we’re accepting bribes and selling the secrets of the US to our enemies, what are you going to do about it? Sure, we’re giving up controlling a deadly disease and letting people die, what are you going to do about it? Sure, we’re simply not going to do anything legislative that might help people, and will instead put brown people in concentration camps and steal judicial seats, what are you going to do about it? So the question is, when they simply say, sure, we saw you vote, but none of those votes count and we won, what are you going to do about it?

If the Court tries to rubber stamp a Trump theft of a clear Biden victory, the nation is going to explode. Which is why I think it won’t.
