She is using a layman’s view of the law, which is that anyone can have their day in court to “prove their innocence.” That mechanically, it actually works in the inverse direction - it is on the state to prove guilt - is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is, Trump has been charged with a crime. He can defend himself against that crime. If the state has nothing on him - if this is all a “witch hunt” - then he can demonstrate this in front of the whole world, since undoubtedly the media will be watching this trial closely. If it is not, then conviction will follow, and the charges will have been justified.
