That’s usually how laymen phrase it (I’m going to court to prove I’m innocent), but the bad-faith actors are relying on pedantry to claim Rep. Pelosi is incompetent. It wouldn’t surprise me if that turns up on FOX News Channel today.

She’s incompetent because she’s speaking the common language of people who are not versed in law… right. To me, that actually bespeaks a higher intelligence, recognizing that many laypeople would understand the concept better as phrased, as opposed to the technically correct explanation.
