Last week I was at a Wal-Mart neighborhood market. This store has ALL self checkouts now, there are no manned cashier lanes anymore.

While I was checking out, virtually all of the self checkouts were being used and there was only ONE employee overseeing them. Given that ratio, I’m sure it would be incredibly easy to “forget” to scan a couple of things and have it go under the stores radar.

What I find interesting from this article, is that Walmart took the time to review that lady’s purchase history and go back to April to review the tapes.
