When we say “crime is a social construct”, what we mean is that you, as an individual, can go to jail for littering, but a corporation can poison the air, the soil, and the water of an entire town, and no one will go to jail.

Donald Trump will not go to jail.

Best-case scenario is that he becomes politically irrelevant and his businesses all go under.

But then his career is made with appearances and speeches and (ghost-written) memoirs of his struggles as the Most Persecuted President…

His ego and his cult-like following will never allow Trump to submerge into being politically irrelevant. The following itself is simply too vital to the GOP’s current voting numbers for them to ignore him or attempt to fully dissociate from him.
