If you see labor as merely another commodity to be minimalized to reduce costs, then you can buy all these arguments against minimumwage, equal pay or collective bargaining.

But if a society places any social value on labor as part of human dignity and freedom: namely the ability to earn enough to support oneself and one family from a full-time job, then we need to have labor laws in place that recognize this view of labor.

And that’s just it…….cons/libertarians don’t place any social value on labor. For them labor is indeed another commodity whose cost is to be minimalized, like printer paper or office supplies.

Office supplies; that pretty much sums up that line of thinking on the cons/libertarians part: Human beings are nothing more than office supplies.
