Once again, I fully support regulating the shit out of that stuff. I just think the kill Facebook attitude is childish IMO. Regulate the medium. I’m merely stating that individual based social media is a different character than print media. You wrongly have this idea that everyone on FB is politics. Some of us and I include myself are pretty apolitical on there.

Facebook is essentially a monopoly. Since it refuses to regulate itself to its own terms of service, then it needs to be regulated.

Most corporations would prefer to regulate themselves than have the government do it. Facebook is being looked at by multiple countries and the UN now for promoting murder and genocide. They’re being checked out here for promoting a digital version of Jim Crow in advertising in violation of the law.

I’m not suggesting social media sites be torn down (even if they do have repeated data breaches of your personal data, then promise to “do better”). They must regulate themselves, or governments must do it.

And by the way, promoting genocide violates international law. I would pay good money to see Zuck go to The Hague.
