As a Canadian, I’d also like to extend my thanks to American and other allied service men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice. It may be clichd, but freedom really isn’t free.

My thanks go out to you Canadians as well who stormed the beaches of Normandy.

I know of several German veterans who meet with their former American, Canadian and British “enemies” in friendship.
