Similarly, not letting my kids win at games against me after a certain age has taught them that the world isn’t going to end if they lose. And that it feels really good when they win.

My oldest brother taught each younger sib how to play all the games. And for about 60 years, has enjoyed the hell out of winning most of them.

He went to California while my brother from Germany was there, and told me about the German one buying a Scrabble set to take back to Berlin, where apparently they can’t be found. Then the oldest brother described how he won the game they first played on it.
