Paxton let it slip the other day when firing off his little screed in response to the TRO being granted, that it’s all about precedent and the authoritarian principle that if you allow a single exception to their rules then the rules become invalid. They genuinely do believe that there is a conspiracy among the medical community to undermine their rule, that doctors will lie on the stand to gut the abortion ban by coming up with all sorts of excuses for why a woman has a medical need for an abortion. And so they have to break this woman and every one like her to scare doctors into enforcing their will.
