Unless they think they can get the votes to convict and remove in the Senate on this issue, dropping the other investigations is a damn fool idea.

If this is their best bet for showing clear lawbreaking, it might not be a bad idea to at least put the other investigations on hold. If the Senate won’t convict on Trump obviously breaking a clearly written law, I don’t know why they would convict on something more ambiguous.
