To the conspiracy nuts, no disease evolves on its own in areas of bad sanitation anymore. All new epidemics are the result of government plots. Why the plotters would want the major economic depression an epidemic would cause is never explained.

Yep. And it’s actually very common to hear people talk this way. So they’ll say “the H1H1 was ‘designed’ to kill Americans to reduce the population so the super rich can take over America!” That’s when I ask them, “well if that’s true how come it only killed a handful of people. Obviously they’re not doing a very good job at what you describe.”

This is followed by the 1000 yard stare.
