I have a cousin whose family in Brattleboro is really, really into various folk music/dance events. Their (now adult) kids always participate in the Vermont events.

I was totally unprepared for all the British/Irish/Scottish culture when I moved into the Twin Cities decades ago. I think my peak exposure was when one of my former college teammates invited me to watch him throw a caber at some fair at Macalaster College. I do have fond memories of listening to the bagpipes (I believe the Minnesota Police Pipe Band) as the warmup for Boiled in Lead at First Ave during St Patrick’s week.
