Here We Go Again: FBI Will Review New Emails in Hillary Clinton Case
Eleven days before the election, FBI director James Comey has announced they’re reviewing newly discovered Hillary Clinton emails.
An amazing number of news sources are reporting that the FBI is “reopening the investigation,” and of course Donald Trump and his people are delightedly crowing the same thing, but that is not what the actual statement says. It says they’re reviewing the emails, not reopening the investigation. It may seem like a small distinction, but it’s part of a pattern we’ve seen throughout this overblown story, in which the details are wildly exaggerated to falsely impute wrongdoing to Hillary Clinton.
These are the actual words used by FBI director Comey:
“In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation … I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,” he wrote.
This is in the “Politics” category because it just stinks of it.
The story is getting stranger.
Pete Williams has sources saying not about Clinton world w/holding emails. Not about Podesta emails. Not emails from Clinton.
