That is great since some of the key+fobs can cost hundreds of dollars to duplicate.

You might want to consider attaching a Tile, airtag, or other tracker to the keyset. They variously use bluetooth, cellular, and other methods to help locate the tag and what is attached to it. Additionally, some also have a network of other devices that report tag location to a central system.

Tile has worked well for me.

One Tile issue is that I understand that newer Tile unit batteries are sealed and no longer replaceable.

Which is my one concern, keeping it charged. We thought about it afterwards. Maybe they should build something like that into the fobs.
