One of my hobbyhorses here for ages is that Putin’s long-term goal is to reunite the former Russian/Soviet empire within its 19/20th-century boundaries and it looks like he has just taken another major step in that direction. His remarks about Ukraine make it clear that he is not going to stop at Luzhansk and Donetsk.

That’s why he must. be. stopped. now.

This simply cannot be allowed to go any further.
