Stupidest Right Wing Conspiracy Fantasy of the Month: #JadeHelm

The idiocy boggles the mind

This man is an idiot

Never in the history of the United States has there been a military exercise on American soil… oh wait, yes there has. Lots of times. But right wingers led by the King of All Idiots, Alex Jones, are having a massive freak-out session about an upcoming Army training exercise dubbed “Jade Helm 15,” concocting wild swivel-eyed fantasies about IMMINENT MARTIAL LAW and SECRET PRISON CAMPS for TRUE PATRIOTS like them.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is one of these loons, obviously, and he ordered the Texas State Guard to “monitor” the exercise to make sure no TRUE PATRIOT RIGHTS would be violated by the evil US Army — leading White House spokesman Josh Earnest to say today, “I have no idea what he’s thinking.”

That’s because he’s not actually “thinking.”

This man is an idiotOn Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott announced that he has ordered the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise, called Operation Jade Helm 15, to ensure that no Texans’ liberties or rights are infringed.

“I have no idea what he’s thinking,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, when asked about Abbott’s move and the apparent mistrust behind it. “In no way will the constitutional rights or civil liberties of any American citizen be infringed upon while this exercise is being conducted.”

I wouldn’t call Alex Jones “King of All Idiots.” He himself is not A Idiot, he just knows how to manipulate swarms of them to make himself millions in government-issued fiat currency.

I dunno, Charles.

There’s been a LOT of stupid Right Wing Conspiracies this month. I’m sure there will be at least 5 more before days end that are just as stupid. This one just takes the cake because of who’s falling for it.

This is what passes for thinking among the GOP and right wing nut jobs (but I repeat myself).

There is only one non-negotiable GOP policy position —- tax cuts for the rich. Since having this as the only real plank in the party platform is unappealing, the GOP has fostered resentment and all kinds of bad craziness just as a distraction from the worthlessness of their only policy.

So now we have the spectacle of a sitting governor in TX indulging in these follies as opposed to calling out this conspiracy crap as the pin-headed shit that it is.

Abbott has no excuse for this pandering, and it grows ever harder to see how any civilized person can justify a vote for the GOP in any contested election.

13 ObserverArt  Apr 30, 2015 11:22:36am

Is Greg Abbott going to take over the title of the craziest U.S. Governor ever?

Seems like he is running a pretty strong campaign.

With that…be back later. Hopefully our country will still be here this evening.

What? You aren’t worried.

I am. The straw man army is on the march. There are hundreds of thousands of them, as we have seen over all these years on the ‘net.

14 HappyWarrior  Apr 30, 2015 11:23:16am

Abbott is a disgrace. When you’re making Rick Perry and George W Bush look professional, you’re a fuck up of the highest order.

15 lawhawk  Apr 30, 2015 11:24:01am

The USG used to hold military exercises on Civil War battlefields. That’s one of the reasons that the observation tower at Antietam was built.

Yet, we’re supposed to believe that Jade Helm means the end of the American way of life because the military is conducting another military exercise in a long line of these exercises for decades.

Did these people ignore the Cold War when there were exercises, scramble drills, and near nuking of our own country by US forces while drilling/exercising? Tybee Island? And the dozens of other incidents where US aircraft carrying nukes crashed taking part in drills, exercises, or routine movements?

Heck, we had non-nuclear detonation of nuclear weapons accidentally dropped.

Or what about all the above ground nuclear weapons tests at the Nevada Test Site, where military units actually practiced fighting in the shadow of a nuclear detonation.

I want to make sure we have elected people constantly looking at helping the African-American community,” Kirk said. “With this state and all of its resources, we could sponsor a whole new class of potential innovators like George Washington Carver and eventually have a class of African-American billionaires.

History means absolutely nothing to wingnuts and moonbats if they can’t get any political traction on it.

BADASS GENE!!!!!!

CCJ has a peculiar fascination with the whole Alpha, Beta thing.

Having met a few SF types, and some other certifiable Alphas in my life, my observation has been that they DON’T dwell on how bad ass they are. Instead they simply have this incredible sense of self confidence that is very quiet, but they just have a ‘aura’ about them that says “Don’t mess with me, I can be your best friend or your worst nightmare”.

The ones that dwell on it, aren’t. Pretty much that simple in most cases.

Of course upChuck would fall into the rare “Gamma Male” category.

Last Thursday the Customer Love Representative (I kid you not) said the Official 2015 Team Oscar T-shirts were to at my front door by this Friday. The MS Walk is Sunday.

This Monday a different Customer Love Representative said they would be shipped yesterday and he upgrade the shipping to next day.

Today a still different Customer Love Representative said if I expected them before next week he could cancel the order and refund my money.

I asked for a Manager.

The Manager said he would “reach out ” to his production team and see what he could do.

Next year I am going back to Vista Print and never looking around again.

The wealth of billionaires and others with shit tons of money isn’t “earned”, it’s stolen from the pockets of those who actually do the work.

“If it is necessary to remind the middle class and working class that the rich are not their enemies, it is equally necessary to remind the most successful among us that their obligations are not to be measured in terms of their tax bills. “

Murray is just repeating the platform of the Republican Party.

I hope Bernie Sanders rips them a new one and is able to get people to undertand the wealth gap in this country and what’s really causing it.

Scott Walker touts Wisconsin business growth in Racine speech

As he ramps up his expected bid for president, Gov. Scott Walker touted his record on business Wednesday night in front of about 500 people at Festival Hall.
Speaking at the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce annual dinner, Walker highlighted the state’s declining unemployment rate, about $2 billion in tax relief and workforce development initiatives over his past four-plus years as governor.

Walker told a friendly audience, which gave him standing ovations as he entered and left the stage, that tax relief is the biggest key to job growth.

Officer in fatal arrest once hospitalized over mental health

wtop.com

BALTIMORE (AP) — The highest-ranking Baltimore police officer in the arrest that led to Freddie Gray’s death was hospitalized in April 2012 over mental health concerns for an unknown duration and had his guns confiscated by local sheriff’s deputies, according to records from the sheriff’s office and court obtained by The Associated Press.

“Lt. Brian Rice, who initially pursued Gray on a Baltimore street when Gray fled after Rice made eye contact April 12, declared three years ago that he “could not continue to go on like this” and threatened to commit an act that was censored in the public version of a report obtained by the AP from the Carroll County, Maryland, Sheriff’s Office. Rice lived in the county, about 35 miles northwest of Baltimore. At the time, deputies were responding to a request to check on his welfare by a fellow Baltimore police officer who is the mother of Rice’s son.

“Deputies reported that Rice appeared “normal and soft spoken” and said he had been seeking “sympathy and attention.” But citing “credible information,” the deputies confiscated both his official and personal guns, called his commanding officer and transported Rice to the Carroll Hospital Center. The weapons included his .40-caliber police pistol, a 9 mm handgun, an AK-47-style rifle, a .22-caliber rifle and two shotguns.” More

I don’t understand why we can’t light a fire in space.

But most of all I don’t understand why some people are homeless.

What I understand most is why we have to go to school.

That’s beautiful.

After all, we know that the Texas GOP has such a stellar record when it comes to antisemitism.

I’d find Huckabee’s argument compelling if he could produce God to express God’s opinion on the subject. Otherwise, Hucksterbee is working from a very old book that was subsequently revised any number of times for reasons both religious and political.

I might add in another reason. Societal. For control and direction of the society.

I personally call it the large thumb in the sky that can squish you instilled fear that makes you hedge your bets until there is personal gain, then all bets are off.

If Chuck’s wife knew what’s good for her, she’d get the hell away from him as fast as possible. Not because he’s an asshole, racist misogynist. But rather because he’s also a highly unstable individual with a gun. This won’t end well.

I am starting to think that he is what was always called “completely pussy whipped” and he lashes out on the internet. He has no discernible source of income, lives in his wife’s parent’s basement and is, for all his inglorious internet infamy, a complete loser.

This is what makes him feel like some kind of man.

This is awful. The plight and fate of homeless mentally ill people who we should be taking care of, not leaving to their own devices to die a slow, or in this case, swift, death. And the reaction to the Starbucks employee who described what see saw showed the level of disdain and ignorance about mental illnes in this country.
